RunHUD

Your watch's heart rate, pace & cadence — big on your phone

Stop checking your watch every 10 seconds

See your heart rate, pace, and cadence big and clear on your phone, from a Bluetooth heart rate strap, a Bluetooth foot pod, or a watch that broadcasts over Bluetooth.
Perfect on the treadmill, and for any run where glancing at your wrist breaks your stride. Works with Garmin, COROS, Polar, Suunto, and more.

The Problem

Running on a treadmill means constantly checking your smartwatch for heart rate, pace, and cadence. It's awkward, breaks your concentration, and strains your eyes trying to read that tiny screen. You find yourself looking down every few seconds instead of focusing on your workout.

The Solution

RunHUD displays your running metrics from Bluetooth sensors in LARGE, CLEAR format on your phone. Place it on your treadmill console and see heart rate, pace, and cadence at a glance—no squinting, no wrist-turning, no distraction. Just effortless monitoring while you run.

  • Heart rate, pace, cadence — three numbers, each big enough to read mid-stride.
  • Running session — start, pause and end, with elapsed time and distance.
  • Stalled sensor warning — values turn red if your sensor stops sending data, so you never trust a frozen number.
  • Cadence in steps per minute for both feet, the way your watch shows it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sensors does RunHUD work with?
RunHUD connects to Bluetooth Low Energy sensors that use the standard Heart Rate service (0x180D) for heart rate, or the Running Speed and Cadence service (0x1814) for pace and cadence. That includes heart rate straps such as the Polar H10, Bluetooth foot pods, and watches in Virtual Run or heart rate broadcast mode. We have confirmed that a Garmin HRM 600 on its own, and a Garmin Forerunner 965 in Virtual Run, both show heart rate, pace, and cadence. RunHUD does not support Apple Watch. ANT+-only sensors, such as the Garmin Foot Pod and Running Dynamics Pod, do not work with RunHUD.
Can I use RunHUD on a treadmill?
Yes! RunHUD is specifically designed for treadmill running. Simply place your phone on the treadmill console and see your heart rate, pace, and cadence in large format without constantly checking your smartwatch.
Does RunHUD work with Garmin watches?
Yes, RunHUD works with Garmin watches when they are in Virtual Run mode (also called Broadcast mode). This mode allows the watch to broadcast data via Bluetooth to other devices. You can enable this in your watch's activity settings.
Is RunHUD free? What does Premium cost?
Yes — RunHUD is free to download, and connecting your sensors and viewing your live HUD is free forever. Premium is an optional one-time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks iOS Live Activities (Dynamic Island & Lock Screen) and the Android background overlay. Pay once, keep it for good. You can see the current price in the app or on the App Store / Google Play.
What's the difference between iOS and Android versions?
Both versions have the same core features. iOS version includes Live Activities (Dynamic Island and Lock Screen display), while Android version includes background overlay (display data over other apps). Both platforms support all sensor connections.
Do I need internet connection to use RunHUD?
No, RunHUD works completely offline once you've connected your Bluetooth sensors. Internet is only needed for initial login (for premium features) and downloading the app.
