What is RunHUD?

RunHUD connects with Bluetooth sensors (heart rate straps, smartwatches, etc.) to display heart rate, pace, and cadence in real-time with large, clear numbers during your run.

Setup Instructions:
  1. Select Virtual Run activity on your watch
  2. Wait without starting (don't press start button)
  3. RunHUD app will automatically detect and connect

Note: Some older models require enabling "Settings > Sensors & Accessories > Broadcast Heart Rate"

COROS

PACE, APEX, VERTIX series
Setup Instructions:
  1. Go to Settings > Sensors > Enable "Broadcast HR"
  2. Select running mode and start activity
  3. Connect in RunHUD app

Note: COROS activates broadcast after activity starts

Polar

Vantage, Grit X, Pacer series
Setup Instructions:
  1. Go to Settings > General Settings > Bluetooth
  2. Enable "Visible to other devices"
  3. Start running activity
  4. Connect in RunHUD app

Note: Polar broadcasts heart rate only during activities

Suunto

Suunto 5, 9, Race series
Setup Instructions:
  1. Go to Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth
  2. Enable "Share HR" or "Broadcast heart rate"
  3. Start workout
  4. Connect in RunHUD app

Note: Suunto broadcasts only during workouts

Samsung Galaxy Watch

Galaxy Watch 4, 5, 6, Ultra
Setup Instructions:
  1. Open Samsung Health app
  2. Start running activity
  3. BLE broadcast activates automatically
  4. Connect in RunHUD app

Note: No manual setup required (automatic), broadcasts when activity starts

Apple Watch

⚠️ Not Supported
Apple Watch does not support real-time heart rate BLE broadcast to third-party apps.

Alternatives:
• Use a separate heart rate sensor (Garmin HRM, Polar H10, etc.)
• RunHUD WatchOS app coming soon

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. My sensor is not detected

A. Please check the following:

  • Verify broadcast settings are enabled on your smartwatch
  • Some watches require starting an activity to activate broadcast
  • Check if Bluetooth permissions are granted
  • Check if another app is using the sensor
Q. Connection drops frequently

A. Try the following:

  • Keep sensor and smartphone close together
  • Disable battery saver mode
  • Remove background restrictions (Android settings)
  • Check sensor battery level
Q. How is my privacy protected?

A. RunHUD collects minimal information:

  • Free features: No information collected
  • Premium features: Only OAuth ID collected (no name, email, etc.)
  • Running data stays on your device and is not sent to servers
